Maharashtra state is worst hit by COVID 19 pandemic which has seen huge human casualties and a mass exodus of migrant labourers leading to an economic meltdown. Most vulnerable sections of society have lost their basic livelihood opportunities especially the migrant labourers from Mumbai and adjoining districts of Thane, Raigad and Palghar. Thousands of families have been pushed into hunger and poverty. COVID 19 crisis is adding another level of difficulty into the lives of people with infectious diseases such as leprosy, TB and HIV-AIDS. Children and adults are being deprived of essential medical treatment that saves lives.

Donations received will go towards funding the activities of the strategic preparedness and response plan, which include among others:
– Tracking contacts of COVID 19 cases and ensure home quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus;
– Ensuring COVID 19 patients including those with co-morbid diseases such as leprosy, TB and HIV AIDS get the care they need;
– Buying and distributing essential supplies such as masks, gloves and protective wear for frontline healthcare workers;
– Disseminating guidelines and advice, and make sure health workers and responders get the information and training to detect and treat affected patients;
– Educating the general public and marginalized groups on measures to take to prevent the spread and prevent themselves and others.
